Industrial design

– more than just design

Industrial design is as much about form as it is function. “The feel” of a good design is appreciated through all aspects of a product, from visual appeal to ergonomics, sound characteristics and durability. In order to achieve this, we follow a design process where end user experience and product usefulness is always the focal point.

Part of our job is knowing people. We often analyze people and succeed in integrating their behavior, needs, moods and dreams into original and innovative products. This requires creativity and new-thinking, but it also means a responsibility to preserve and improve upon the original ideas, strengths and visual appeal throughout the entire process from concept to market.

”Succeeding with technical solutions that people will use on a daily basis is very satisfying,” says David Wahl at Creator. “Dynamically combining a technical solution and fresh, new design is what makes being an industrial designer so exciting.”

Why we succeed with industrial design

Creator must thoroughly know people in order to succeed in integrating their behavior, needs, moods and dreams into original and innovative products. This requires creativity and new-thinking, but also means a responsibility to preserve, yet refine the original ideas’ strengths and visual appeal throughout the entire development process.

Creator’s design team plays an active roll in all of the company’s projects from the original idea and concept drawings to fine-tuning the product’s detail solutions and aesthetic expression. Many requirements and requests are to be met, and it is the industrial designer’s task to design a product that satisfies the customer, production requirements, the market and the end user.

Even seemingly simple design projects have much to gain by involving an industrial designer. A valuable synergy between the design and production teams is part of the secret behind Creator’s successful products.

Creator’s industrial designers are always involved early on in a project to design and visualize the product. This aids customers and other development team members in quickly uniting in a common vision of the product. In this way, a winning, competitive product can be developed in less time.

What our industrial designers think

“As an industrial designer, I believe that one of Creator’s strengths is its wide spectrum of expertise and complete functionality under one roof,“ says Industrial Designer David Wahl. “Easy access to talented engineers, technicians and mechanical designers on our team allows us to discuss problem solutions and creative suggestions as the need arises,” he says. “It certainly makes my job easier.”

The challenges in technically complex projects and difficult problem solutions are aspects that have enticed David to accept his position at Creator.

“Designing technical solutions for products to be used on a daily basis is a demanding task that is extremely satisfying when it succeeds,” says David. “It is combining technical solutions with a selling visual form that drives me,” he says. “Our strengths are in innovative thinking, new approaches to problem solving and contributing with creative, trendy and complete concepts.
